The Faìve Spumante Rosé Brut from the Nino Franco winery is obtained from a skilful blend of 80% Merlot grapes and 20% Cabernet Franc grapes. The vineyards are located in the heart of Valdobbiadene, a typical prosecco area, where the soil structure rich in nutrients and the very mild climate favor optimal development of the vines and the production of quality grapes.

This winery has been producing quality wines and sparkling wines for several years, combining two important concepts such as excellence and typicality of the products. To produce Faìve Spumante Rosé Brut, a specific production cycle is followed. After a brief contact between the skins and the must, the fermentation takes place in steel tanks before carrying out the second fermentation with the Classic Method.

The refinement takes place directly in the bottle. In this way an elegant and refined sparkling wine is obtained, with a persistent foam, balanced and ideal to be consumed during an aperitif.

Elvio Cogno is one of the Langhe's most respected and forward-thinking estates, based in Novello in the heart of the Barolo zone. Founded by the legendary Elvio Cogno and now led by his son-in-law Walter Fissore and daughter Nadia, the estate is celebrated for its commitment to indigenous Piedmontese grape varieties and its pioneering role in the revival of Nascetta — an ancient white grape that had nearly disappeared from the region entirely.

Nascetta is a rare, indigenous white variety native to the commune of Novello, where it has been cultivated for centuries. Nearly extinct by the late 20th century, Elvio Cogno was instrumental in its revival, and today the grape has its own dedicated DOC — Langhe Nascetta del Comune di Novello — a testament to the variety's unique character and the estate's advocacy. The Anas-Cëtta — the name is a playful phonetic rendering of "Nascetta" in Piedmontese dialect — is the benchmark expression of this extraordinary grape, farmed organically and vinified with minimal intervention to let the terroir speak.

The 2025 offers a vibrant, distinctive nose of yellow fruit, jasmine, citrus, ginger, and thyme, with complex notes of white flowers and mineral precision. Señorío de Líbano | Castillo de Sajazarra | Rioja Reserva DOCa | Rioja Alta, Spain | 2019

Bodegas Señorío de Líbano is headquartered in the picturesque medieval village of Sajazarra — a true gem of a town in the Rioja Alta, the most prestigious sub-zone of Spain's most celebrated wine region. Rioja Alta's higher altitude, cooler temperatures, and clay-limestone soils produce wines of exceptional structure, elegance, and longevity — the hallmarks of great Rioja Reserva.

The Castillo de Sajazarra Reserva is a classic Rioja blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha, aged 24 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels, followed by a further 12 months of bottle aging before release. This extended aging regime — the minimum for Reserva classification — allows the wine to develop the secondary and tertiary complexity that defines great Rioja at its best.

The 2019 is a deep, pillory red with violet reflections. The nose opens with a beautiful combination of secondary and tertiary aromas: leather, smoke, mushrooms, and perfectly matured red fruit, with hazelnut and vanilla notes from the oak. On the palate, unctuous and full with solid structure, mature and sweet well-integrated tannins, and a harmonious, long finish. A Reserva that drinks more like a Gran Reserva — ready to enjoy now without hesitation.

You may say to yourself this is so different in the tradition of a wine from old world France in the bard yard style. Its power immediately comes at you. If you prefer modern style California Zinfandel, then this wine is not for you. If you are an explorer, with a skydiver personality, I highly recommend this wine.

About the Wine Château La Rame is among the oldest and most renowned properties in the Sainte-Croix-du-Mont appellation, situated on a hill overlooking the Garonne River, 25 miles southeast of Bordeaux. Tenuta Rapitalà Nadir Syrah is rich and well-endowed, with layers of black fruits and earthy spice. Nippon Seishu — the brewery behind Chitosetsuru — is one of Hokkaido's most celebrated sake producers, based in Sapporo and dedicated to expressing the unique terroir of Japan's northernmost main island through the art of sake brewing. Hokkaido is a region of exceptional natural resources: pristine soft spring water, cold winters ideal for slow, controlled fermentation, and a growing tradition of cultivating sake-specific rice varieties uniquely suited to the local climate. Chitosetsuru Junmai Daiginjo Suisei is one of the first sakes ever made from Hokkaido's native 'Suisei' rice variety — a local grain with low starch content that allows for a clean, dry sake of excellent structure and remarkable elegance. This charmingly demonstrates Long Island's prowess with Merlot. A fragrant fruit salad perfume of summer berries with subtle purple flower, vanilla and baking spice tucked beneath. It's supple, structured and harmonious, with firm, sappy tannins and a crunch of acidity.  

Winemaker Description

The Grapes of Roth is Winemaker Roman Roth's private label, and a true testament to his classic, yet adventerous, wine-making style. Wonderful dark cherry fruit with well integrated oak, classic graphite and great minerality is complimented by a very savory and elegant finish.

Dark red brick in color. Elegant aromas of cassis and fine toasted sandalwood fill the glass. The mouth-feel is rich and concentrated, yet balanced with wonderful fruit of plumbs, prunes and amazing minerality. The finish has layers of ripe tannins and nicely toasted oak with fine classic earthiness, leather and iodine notes. The fruit and alcohol provide great length and make this a very special Merlot that possesses great aging potential and is the perfect partner with food.

This is a wine to be aged. It has a huge maturation curve ahead and will gain many more nuances and facets. Serve just at room temperature. Pair this Merlot with dishes you might think of for big, bold wines: steak, cassoulet, duck and decadent dark chocolate desserts.
