The black bottle design is inspired by the Nicaraguan tradition of Day of the Dead. In Nicaragua, in addition to the standard traditions of building a shrine and gift-giving, many people linger and sleep in the graveyard. They believe that this act re-enforces the emotional connection between them and the deceased.

The finish is dry elegant and complex; reminiscent of jasmine and lime peel. Once the glass is empty smell the strong cooked agave and butter scents left.

Abundant herbaceous notes with small mineral and fruity tones. Fresh vegetable flavor predominates with floral tones, such as geranium and green leaves, in which its unmistakably earthy notes of agave stand out.

Part of the “Karwinskiis” wild agave family, its production is very scarce and laborious, it matures between 12 and 15 years in wild conditions. Used in some places as fencing because of the tall, long stalks. Cuishe has a “barrel” shape root or “pineapple”. Abundant herbaceous notes with small mineral and fruity tones. Fresh vegetable flavor predominates with floral tones, such as geranium and green leaves, in which its unmistakably earthy notes of agave stand out.

A wonderful blend of Espadín and Salmiana also known as ‘Pulquero or the Green Giant’. It has been used by Mesoamerican cultures for hundreds of years to make ‘Honey-Water’. Sweet and spicy profile with citrus notes on the midpalate and a refreshing finish. Hints of mint and sage, mineral undertones, and a spicy kick on the finish.

Malasanta Mezcal was created to give tribute to the city of Aguascalientes and its rich history with respect to Calavera Garbancera or La Catrina. Producer Description 

One of the smallest wild agaves, it grows at around 5000 FT elevation on dry rocky soils on the southern mountains in Oaxaca. It needs the help of animals such as birds and bats to spread its seeds, making it harder to locate in the mountains. Very fresh and aromatic, floral, and fruity. With tones of wood, straw, wild grasses, and sweet notes of peppermint and eucalyptus with a hint of spice.

Producer Description 

La Coleccin Mixteca Edicin 4 is a curated selection of small-batch agave spirits crafted in the rustic distilleries of the mountainous Mixteca region of Oaxaca and Puebla. Each bottling explores the maestro mezcaleros interpretation of subjecting agave endemic to the region to peculiar production methods and styles that have largely fallen out of favor in modern times.

This batch of agave Pizorra (a. Marmorata) was distilled by maestro mezcalero Delfino Tobn Meja in his hometown of San Pablo Ameyaltepec, Puebla. Along with friends and family members, Delfino wild-harvested these massive, white-striped agaves in the outskirts of his hometown, whose name roughly translates to "the mountain where water is born" in Nahuatl.

After harvesting, Delfino roasted the agave with tlahuicole firewood in an underground conical pit oven for four days. He then milled the cooked agave with a mechanical shredder and allowed them to ferment naturally with spring water for about a week. Once fermentation was complete, he distilled the mash and tepache once in a custom-made, hybrid 3-plated copper still. Proofed with heads, hearts, and holanda by Delfino.

Originally created by Maestro Mezcalero Lucio Moralesbas a gift to his wife, Agustina, “Zacate” is produced by the Morales family using the same traditional process as their classic “white tape” espadín, with one important twist:

Freshly cut lemongrass is added to the stills before the second distillation, and a bit more is macerated in the finished product for an extra touch of aromatics and
color.

The result is a bright and lively expression of espadín that makes a great highball, brings an interesting twist to classic mezcal cocktails, or works as a fun plug-and-
play substitute for gin.

The Arroqueño plants used in this batch of mezcal are the first of his harvest; these 15+ year-old plants are characterized by their “dry espadin” flavor and produced in the ancestral style in Sola de Vega, Oaxaca.

Robles Arroqueno uses a wooden mallet to crush his cooked agaves by hand and distills them in clay pot stills. This mezcal has a deep minerality that is a result of the long-growing agaves.
